#Scrivener android software#
Campfire PĬampfire is an outlining writing software with many of Scriverner’s advantages and they have event timelines. I overall liked Scrivener and the cons are outweighed by the pros. Though the pricing is steep for non-professionals, it does not quite enter the point of absurdity Microsoft Office does, and is probably worth it if you outline often, either are already a professional or seriously aspiring to be one and can afford it.
#Scrivener android trial#
The free trial is generous, and it’s features are fantastic, I definitely recommend trying it, but wish it had time lines to list character events. Before I tried the other software, I assumed this would win out. Scrivener Final Thoughts: I have used scrivener before this project years ago, and I was happy to retry it. $45.00 is a bit steep for non-professionals I can split the screen between my cue cards and the page and my prose, which keeps me on track. I loved the cork board option allowing me to have each scene have a brief descriptor, thus allowing me to refer to them while I’m writing. The system allows you to split the work into segments and give each of those segments an outline. It has modes for fiction, serial, and non fiction works. Scrivener I actually imagine many of you will be familiar with as it has been around for while. Picture is Screenshot from my NaNo Project I used free trials of both Scrivener and Campfire to outline my project to see how well they performed and which I liked best. This year was the first year in I think two years I participated in NaNoWriMo, I decided to ditch my usual approach of writing the story with only major plot points figured out and muddling through each of the characters’ attempts to reach those plot points to outline this years project.
